Hunger

This program targets children who have been placed in kinship care as one or both parents battle addiction. Our F.I.R.S.T. Program provides enhanced Emergency Food Assistance to Kinship Caregivers with a referral from one of the rehabilitation-centered hubs throughout the community. The enhanced food product given is based on The USDA’s My Plate Model and includes: fresh fruits and vegetables, protein, dairy, and whole grains. Food parcels contain foods familiar to the children for example cereal, milk, bunches of bananas, granola, and easy open pull tab cans etc…The types of food provided is determined by the need projected through SeaGate’s partnered agencies.
